Plastic Welding

Similar to metal welding, plastic welding creates a permanent bond between thermoplastics. The materials are softened from the heat of the torch, then the materials are bonded together when the welding rod is pressed to the joint surface. We provide plastic welding services for repairing or building new dual laminate scrubbers and tanks, pickle lines, butt welding for HDPE piping and much more.

HDPE Butt Fusion Welding

plastic welding a pipe

Due to its impermeability, durability and abrasion resistance, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is often used for high pressure pipelines such as gas, oil, water and sewer mains. It also provides more flexibility and is more cost effective than steep piping. HDPE pipes can be effectively connected with butt fusion welding. When properly done, this creates a weld that is as strong as the pipe itself. This method can be used on HDPE pipes of any size.

Benefits of Butt Fusion Welding:

  • The weld becomes as strong as the pipe itself
  • Guaranteed leak-free weld
  • No additional fittings or joints required
  • Simplified procedure
