RELINING PROCESS

This concrete sump pit’s existing FRP liner was unable to be repaired due to chemical permeation. We began this repair process by prefabricating fiberglass panels in our shop that would be able to be brought into the tank as a drop-in liner. The 1/2 inch prefabricated FRP panels were made from 1/4 inch thick structural liner and a 1/4 inch thick corrosion liner, and then fabricated with Derakane 470 Resin. Once onsite, we vacuumed out the sump and cleaned/prepped the walls and floor. Then the panels were mechanically fastened with stainless steel wedge pin anchors, and tied together.
